After the busy fall 2013 tour, Mavis’ successful knee surgeries and the holidays, 2014 is starting to shape up. Lots of highlights, but the highest looks to be a couple of European tours and Mavis headlining this summer’s Newport Folk Festival around the time of her 75th birthday! If there’s ever been a time to hit Newport, it’ll be this summer. Also, RHB will be playing Southern California shows when the opportunity strikes. Oh’ and don’t forget to check out Mavis’ new book, written by Greg Kot, titled “I’ll Take You There — The Staples Singers, and the March Up Freedom’s Highway” … something to read on the way to Newport.
